The Ossining Union Free School District will provide its Mandated Compliance Training via an online system that was developed in collaboration with Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. In addition, Global Compliance Network (GCN) is providing training, including NYS Mandated Sexual Harassment Training, Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) Training, Mental Health Training, and a review of important Ossining policies. All faculty and staff are required to receive training on the above topics. You are also asked to review the New Ossining UFSD Staff/Employee Handbook. This handbook provides you with “pertinent information of district wide responsibilities relative to policies and procedures.”
Beginning in 2019, New York State requires that all employees receive mandated sexual harassment training that must be completed every year. The New York State Dignity for All Students Act took effect in all school districts on July 1, 2012. The Dignity Act, as the official policy of NYSED, ensures that all students are guaranteed the right to be educated in a setting that is free of discrimination and harassment.
Employees will log into the PNW BOCES & GCN web sites and complete the required training tutorials according to the deadlines established by the Office of Human Resources. The time needed to complete each online tutorial varies from 5 to 30 minutes, and employees may complete the required tutorials in one session or in separate sessions. These trainings will be provided upon hire to the District, then on a yearly basis.
